Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Administration
    • Conduct system administration activities on all servers in all environments to ensure they are up and available.
    • Manage backup and restore capabilities to ensure data integrity and availability.
    • Perform daily monitoring of servers, performance tuning, and verifying health to ensure optimal performance.
    • Monitor State iPost scores and take actions to keep servers patched at required levels, meeting contractual SLA requirements.
  • Network and Security
    • Manage development network and VPN software to ensure secure and reliable access to our systems.
  • User Support
    • Provide Tier-2 support for system users, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Application Management
    • Assist in performing application installation, configuration, and management to ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience with Windows System Administration.
  • Experience managing virtual servers, using software like VMware and pfSense.
  • Experience with backing up and restoring production servers.
  • Experience with development networks - physical servers and networking.
  • Experience providing Tier-2 user support.

Clearance Requirements

This position requires the candidate to have an active Top Secret clearance.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Federal A&A processes and security requirements.
  • Experience managing IIS.
  • Experience managing applications like Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with using Splunk.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.

Desired Certification(s)

  • Microsoft Systems Administrator.

Desired Education

  • B.S. degree in an IT-related field preferred.

Travel Requirements

This position requires the ability to work in a hybrid remote/onsite environment, with occasional travel to the office. Applicants should live within the DC region to support any changes to the current remote work arrangement.
