Key Responsibilities
The Underwriting Account Representative will be tasked with:
- Executing account clearance and related tasks efficiently.
- Establishing priorities and effectively planning, coordinating, and monitoring personal work schedules while overseeing multiple submissions.
- Maintaining high service standards through prompt responses to broker inquiries and timely acquisition of underwriting information.
- Engaging with agents and brokers to confirm or gather necessary data for policy issuance and servicing.
- Completing renewal preparation activities.
- Assisting the Underwriter in preparing quotations, binders, and policies as directed.
- Identifying forms and endorsements essential for policy formulation.
- Conducting account inquiries utilizing various management systems.
- Demonstrating understanding and experience with administrative and clerical procedures, including managing electronic files, data, and records.
- Exhibiting the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Identifying and reporting issues or discrepancies while managing substantial amounts of detailed information.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience in commercial insurance underwriting support is preferred.
- A foundational understanding of insurance terminology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
- A keen attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
