Position Overview

DEKA Research & Development is in search of a Lead Systems Architect to become an integral part of our dynamic team focused on the development of advanced medical devices. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of innovative projects that aim to transform lives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing comprehensive electro-mechanical system architectures along with detailed system specifications and high-level design documentation.
  • Establishing critical interfaces among subsystems and guiding subsystem leaders in the integration of complex software-driven electro-mechanical devices to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Developing system-level testing strategies, including test specifications and protocols.
  • Conducting hazards analysis, failure modes analysis, and designing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborating with program management to align design objectives with the overall project goals, which may encompass product cost, dimensions, weight, durability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Assisting in the formulation of project plans by estimating the resources required for design tasks.
  • Providing expertise in manufacturing process development, including process innovation, PFMEA reviews, and establishing manufacturing test criteria.

Qualifications:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design.
  • Proven experience in new product development settings, particularly with embedded software, intricate mechanical systems, and electronics (PLC experience is advantageous).
  • Exemplary technical leadership capabilities.
  • A track record of creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Experience in defining and managing requirements for performance, compliance with standards, and testing protocols.
  • Background in pioneering first-generation product development, especially within the medical device sector.
  • Familiarity with product testing methodologies, experimental techniques, and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Prior experience with disposable product design is beneficial.
