Job Description

BAE Systems USA is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Electronic Combat Solutions group, you will be responsible for leading the engineering efforts for our Future Capabilities portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Product Area Director to develop and deliver products and systems that meet customer needs
  • Collaborate across functions to effectively staff and support engineering across the portfolio
  • Provide engineering leadership for all activities within the portfolio, including strategic planning, bid and proposal support, engineering strategy, and integrated plans on programs
  • Work with program managers, functional engineering managers, and operations to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved
  • Monitor project plans and execution to ensure technical and work scope meets requirements, schedule, and budget
  • Improve our work environment by promoting teamwork, wellness, workplace flexibility, and inclusive behaviors
  • Support technology transfer across organizational boundaries to benefit our customers and the business
  • Recruit, train, and develop Program Engineering Managers to meet business needs
Requirements
  • Active Secret Security clearance and ability to obtain Special Access clearances
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 12 years of technical leadership experience and mission/domain knowledge of emerging RF capabilities relevant to the business
  • Experience leading new business captures and proposals
  • Experience in engineering development and transition to production of complex electronic systems
  • Aptitude for Agile Methodologies and Lean Product Development
  • Project engineering management experience, including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including strategic thinking, business acumen, and team building
