Position Overview

Percipient is on the lookout for a Senior Back-End Systems Architect to join our expanding team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with fellow back-end developers, front-end engineers, product managers, and specialists in AI and Computer Vision to construct scalable and inventive back-end infrastructures, services, tools, and APIs that drive our offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and develop robust, scalable services, tools, APIs, and systems that integrate computer vision functionalities into a comprehensive product workflow.
  • Continuously innovate and explore creative solutions to address high-impact mission challenges for our clients.
  • Provide design leadership, code evaluations, and implementation advice to junior engineers.
  • Break down complex problems into manageable tasks that can be executed concurrently by team members.
  • Develop new algorithms, processes, and data flows that facilitate mission success for our clients.
  • Enhance existing features that directly influence the core product.
  • Optimize services, APIs, and systems for improved performance, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Assume ownership of significant components of the software.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; Master's or Ph.D. is advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in delivering high-impact, mission-critical projects.
  • Demonstrated success in building highly reliable and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Scala, or Java.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus.
  • Strong passion for developing solutions swiftly while designing for long-term scalability and growth.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Experience in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and/or computer vision is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, taking ownership of projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to federal regulations.
