We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Protect People and Property: Patrol assigned areas, monitor alarms, and surveillance cameras to prevent and respond to security incidents.
- Provide Escort Services: Offer escorts for staff, visitors, and patients as requested, ensuring their safety and security.
- Respond to Emergencies: Provide emergency response to a variety of situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and other security incidents.
- Conduct Investigations: Investigate security incidents, gather evidence, and prepare reports to ensure that incidents are thoroughly documented and addressed.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, handling sensitive information and situations with discretion and professionalism.
This is a fast-paced and physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings. You will be required to walk, stand, and lift patients (approximately 50 pounds) with the help of others, as well as withstand adverse weather conditions.
Requirements- Education: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of police, emergency services, security, or related experience preferred.
- Licensure: Must possess and maintain an MA driver's license or valid license from the state in which the employee resides.
- Training: Must obtain and maintain various certifications, including De-Escalation Training, Healthcare Defensive Tactics System (HDTS), Handcuff Tactics (HT), Pepper Spray Defense (PSD), First Aid/CPR/AED, C-Spine Immobilization, HazMat Levels 1, 2 & 3, and International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification.
