Principal Engineer in Power Electronics Development

Key Responsibilities

Designing Advanced BMS:

  • Assume complete responsibility for BMS hardware, including feature proposals, specification definitions, component selection, hardware design, and comprehensive system validation.

Electrical Design and Optimization:

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and innovation of BMS tailored for electric vehicles.

Leading Troubleshooting Initiatives:

  • Detect and resolve field-related issues to ensure seamless product functionality.

Integration Expertise:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on powertrain and vehicle-level integrations, guiding projects from prototype through to production.

Collaborative Efforts:

  • Engage closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, software engineering, and supply chain teams to facilitate the product's transition to mass production.

Safety-Critical Development:

  • Be part of a team dedicated to developing advanced and safety-critical electronic products that redefine industry standards.

Qualifications

Electronics Knowledge:

  • Solid foundation in electronic components and circuit design.

Mixed Signal Circuit Design:

  • Experience in creating mixed-signal circuits for high-speed and high-resolution applications.

BMS Experience:

  • Over 5 years of practical experience with BMS or similar safety-critical products.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in schematic capture tools, including worst-case analysis and DFMEA.

PCB Layout Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout best practices for high voltage applications, focusing on signal integrity, power integrity, and electromagnetic interference mitigation.

Hands-On Experience:

  • Practical skills in troubleshooting various electronic components, including microcontrollers, operational amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, switch-mode power supplies, and communication circuits.

Testing Equipment Familiarity:

  • Comfortable using various testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, probes, and power analyzers.

Circuit Simulation Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with circuit simulation tools for operational amplifier circuits, switch-mode power supplies, and transient analysis.

Safety Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of BMS functional safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the automotive sector.
  • Involvement in BMS, inverters, on-board chargers, or other powertrain products.
  • Working knowledge of Power Electronics and experience in switch-mode power supply design.

Education

  • A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is required.
