Position Title: Lead Automation Systems Engineer

Role Overview: The Lead Automation Systems Engineer will collaborate with a team of Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and manufacturing personnel to design, implement, and document control systems for a variety of automation and robotic technologies. This role involves significant engagement with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding/laser design, peripheral device programming, PLC programming, machine power-up, troubleshooting, and validation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and document control systems for diverse automated machinery.
  • Oversee the electrical/hydraulic and pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, HMI design and programming, robotic programming, and coordinate machine debugging, power-up, and validation with production and electrical teams.
  • Ensure that systems are designed and programmed according to client specifications and/or Axis Automation standards utilizing established methodologies.
  • Travel to client locations for equipment installation and commissioning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10-20%, including both domestic and international assignments.
  • At least 5 years of experience with PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and/or Vision Systems.
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing AutoCAD Electrical (or similar software) for electrical layout design.

Compensation:

$90,000-$110,000

Additional Benefits:

Compensation includes overtime pay, travel reimbursement, year-end bonuses, employee referral bonuses, and customer referral bonuses.
