FreeFrom is a national organization dedicated to dismantling the nexus between gender-based violence and financial insecurity. Our mission is to empower survivors to achieve financial independence and build communities that support individual, intergenerational, and collective healing.

Our Work

We create infrastructure to address gender-based violence by:

  • Growing the capacity of the anti-violence movement
  • Supporting survivors with emergency cash grants and our Savings Matching Program
  • Building tech resources for survivors
  • Creating peer networks that facilitate survivors' collective power building
  • Changing existing laws and advocating for the passage of new, survivor-centered laws at the state and federal level
  • Expanding the data and research that exists to support the field
  • Bringing in employers, banks, and other institutions as part of the ecosystem working to support survivors' financial security and safety

About the Position

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Digital Media Manager to lead our external and social media strategy and content creation efforts. This individual will play a pivotal role in amplifying our mission, engaging our audience, and promoting our social enterprise, Gifted.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, innovative, and proactive professional with strong skills in social media management, content creation, video editing, graphic design, and digital marketing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, managing, and repurposing multimedia content while maintaining an organized content calendar
  • Leading the creation, scheduling, and engagement across social media platforms, ensuring alignment with brand goals
  • Planning and executing digital marketing campaigns to drive sales and enhance brand visibility
  • Designing and delivering compelling newsletters that effectively communicate key messages and brand identity
  • Performing updates and collaborating on new features to keep the website current and engaging
  • Creating consistent and visually appealing designs for various platforms and materials in line with brand guidelines

Qualifications and requirements include:

  • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing
  • Proven experience in writing concise, powerful narratives and calls to action
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
  • Video editing skills with experience using video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and design
  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms
  • Basic understanding of website management
  • Passion for social justice, gender equity, and supporting survivors of gender-based violence
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable and open to feedback
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach
  • Willingness to jump in and do the work, often on tight deadlines
