Key Responsibilities


Oversee the strategic planning, design, and development of security systems, applications, environments, and architectures; ensure the implementation of security measures aligns with information security standards and corporate policies.


Participate in incident management teams, applying advanced skills to respond to security incidents according to Oracle's incident response protocols.

Conduct investigations into suspected breaches and security incidents, leading root cause analyses.

Coordinate incidents with various business units and may serve as the Incident Commander during critical situations.

Develop innovative methods, playbooks, and sophisticated scripts, applications, and tools, while providing training to others in their application.


Assess existing and proposed technical architectures for security vulnerabilities, offering technical guidance to support the creation of secure frameworks and recommending controls to mitigate identified risks.

Evaluations of internal security frameworks may involve design assessments, risk evaluations, and threat modeling.

Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and execute a multi-year security strategy.


Focus on both operational and strategic tasks, providing mentorship and guidance to junior security operations engineers within the department.

Qualifications


A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an information security role, supporting security initiatives and engineering/architecture in complex enterprise settings.

Hands-on experience with enterprise security architecture, engineering, and implementation is essential.


Familiarity with compliance security controls, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HITRUST, PCI-DSS, and FedRAMP, particularly in cloud SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.

Understanding of SDLC principles and proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Terraform, Python, Ruby) is required.

Proficiencies:
Cloud architecture and security principles.

Risk Management Frameworks.

System administration for *nix and Windows.

Experience with:
Microsegmentation techniques and technologies.

Containerization and orchestration platforms.

Log management and analysis.

Identity management principles and technologies.

Database security practices and technologies.

CI/CD and DevOps methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.

Strong understanding of web technologies, middleware, databases, operating systems, firewalls, and network communication protocols.

Knowledge of database security principles and encryption technologies.

Expertise in evaluating and assessing security threats across diverse environments and industries.

In-depth understanding of secure networking principles, routers, switches, and load balancers.
