Job Overview

The Engineering Project Manager is tasked with overseeing the planning, direction, and coordination of all stages of execution for assigned capital and significant maintenance projects. This role encompasses everything from Project Initiation to Project Closeout, which includes engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up phases. The Project Manager collaborates with the Operations Team to formulate the CAPEX Plan, identifying the complete Project Scope and Budget. Ensuring that project objectives are met within the defined Scope, Schedule, Cost, and Quality constraints is a critical responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Project Team Leader for major capital projects, ensuring execution aligns with Scope, Schedule, Cost, and Quality parameters.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to develop the Project Scope and initial design concepts.
  • Create a comprehensive Project Execution Plan that outlines necessary resources, communication strategies, procurement methods, timelines, and budgets.
  • Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure Project Plans align with operational constraints, including scheduled maintenance and outages.
  • Oversee ongoing Project Monitoring and Control, focusing on cost management, forecasting, schedule updates, and reporting.
  • Facilitate the Project Change Management process.
  • Coordinate Project Status updates with the Project Management Office, including forecasts and change management activities.
  • Engage with the Area Buyer and Production teams to promote efficient procurement practices.
  • Partner with the Corporate Capital Procurement Manager to develop project-specific procurement strategies.
  • Provide the Procurement Manager with bid packages and assist in bid evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all phases of the project management process.
  • Direct and manage both internal and external resources assigned to projects.
  • Oversee relationships with external engineering firms and contractors, either directly or through construction managers.
  • Manage the project completion, acceptance, and closure processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Maintenance teams to uphold customer requirements during project implementation.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 8 years of project engineering management experience in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Proven experience in executing projects within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong engineering acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and professionalism with a strong work ethic.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to various locations as required.
