Position Summary

As a Metrologist at KI Industries Inc., you will be integral in conducting measurements and evaluations to guarantee that customer samples align with the established accuracy and quality standards. This role offers a valuable opportunity for career advancement in a fast-paced industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document part layouts, capability assessments, and gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies.
  • Ensure the fit, form, and function of components meet customer and company specifications.
  • Oversee the management of measuring instruments using the Calibration management software, ensuring timely calibration of in-house gauges and coordinating third-party calibration as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates to the Quality Manager to ensure all gauges requiring external calibration are dispatched promptly to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of gauge inventories and order new gauges as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team leaders to facilitate proactive engagement with customers and suppliers.
  • Undertake specialized metrology projects as directed by the company or clients.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with various quality measurement tools, including video and contact CMMs, and related software applications.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications using GD&T principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software for data management.
  • Strong attention to detail in data processing and record-keeping.
  • Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and testing methods, both destructive and non-destructive.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in metrology.
