Position Overview
AECOM is seeking a junior Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Group. This role presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry's finest professionals on diverse water and wastewater design projects, including pipeline systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
This position allows for a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting in specific segments of broader engineering assignments under the guidance of seasoned engineers.
- Collecting and analyzing fundamental engineering data following established protocols.
- Engaging in routine engineering tasks that involve calculations and straightforward testing.
- Proposing solutions to newly encountered challenges.
- Identifying inconsistencies in results.
- Providing mentorship to entry-level engineers.
- Executing tasks within agreed budgets and timelines with moderate oversight.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or coursework focused on water and wastewater design, including calculations for open channel flow, stormwater management, and pumping systems.
- Proficiency in the detailed design of erosion and sediment control plans.
- Experience in designing piping systems and preparing construction documentation.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
