The role of our Direct Care Staff is crucial in cultivating a positive environment that encourages growth and learning. These professionals assist clients facing mental health and behavioral challenges, striving to empower young women to harness their unique talents and become valued community members.
Our approach to rehabilitative services is collaborative, involving the child, their guardians, our staff, and other professionals to help the child achieve their goals outlined in their Person-Centered Plan.
This position requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts including:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Weekends: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Mandatory every other weekend work
Every shift is vital to the success of our clients and the organization as a whole.
Responsibilities of the Direct Care Staff include:
- Ensuring the health and safety of all clients in our care
- Designing and implementing engaging activities that promote independence in both home and community settings
- Documenting client progress towards their established goals accurately
- Building empathetic relationships to guide clients towards positive choices
- Advocating for the needs of clients proactively
- Modeling effective self-regulation techniques
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field is preferred
- Background in Trauma-informed Care, Crisis Intervention, or Positive Behavior Support is advantageous
- Experience with adolescents in a residential context is a plus
Physical Requirements:
In situations where a client may exhibit violent behavior, the staff must possess the physical capability to ensure safety and manage emergencies effectively.
Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary. Candidates should demonstrate effective self-regulation strategies and a willingness to learn. All applicants must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.
