Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Associate Photographer to join our dynamic Photo Studio team in Dublin, California. As a vital member of the studio, you will work closely with experienced photographers, assist with shoot production, and contribute to the smooth operation of the photo studio.

  • Set up and breakdown of studio lighting, grip gear, props, and other equipment needed for each shoot.
  • Maintain the photo bays, including painting and repairing of cyc and flats.
  • Manage the photo/video equipment inventory, ensuring regular checks and updates in our database.
  • Ensure photo/video equipment is properly maintained, clean, and in working order.
  • Track and document any equipment issues, damages, or repairs and escalate if necessary.
  • Assist the photographer in setting up and preparing the studio for shoots.
  • Support the photographer with color checker, lighting setups, adjusting light intensity, and positioning.
  • Transport equipment, grip gear, props, and other materials needed for studio/shoots using company-provided vehicles.
  • Demonstrate foundational understanding and safe operation of power tools.
  • Contribute to maintaining studio facilities and assisting with organizing special events as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in a photo or video production environment, preferably as a photo assistant.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Capture One, Canon cameras, and professional studio equipment such as Profoto and Broncolor.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, promoting positive teamwork and open communication.
  • Problem-solving mindset and resourcefulness to tackle challenges quickly.
  • Takes initiative and addresses tasks and challenges efficiently, contributing to a seamless workflow.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, adapting to last-minute changes, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license.
