About the Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Photographer to join our dynamic and growing Photo Studio team. As a vital member of our studio, you'll have the chance to work closely with experienced photographers, assist with shoot production, and help maintain the smooth operation of the photo studio. What You'll Do | Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for set up and breakdown of studio lighting, grip gear, props, and other equipment needed for each shoot.
  • Responsible for maintenance of photo bays, including painting and repairing of cyc and flats.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the photo/video equipment inventory, ensuring regular checks and updates in our inventory database.
  • Ensure photo/video equipment is properly maintained, clean, and in working order.
  • Track and document any equipment issues, damages, or repairs and escalate if necessary
  • Assist the photographer in setting up and preparing the studio for shoots.
  • Assist the photographer with color checker, lighting setups, adjusting light intensity, and positioning.
  • Drive the company van (training provided) to pick up and transport equipment, grip gear, props, and other materials needed for studio/shoots.
  • Demonstrate foundational understanding and safe operation of power tools
  • Support the maintenance of studio facilities and assist with organizing special events as needed.
What You'll Bring | Skills & Experience
  • 2+ years experience in a photo or video production environment, preferably as a photo assistant.
  • B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Capture One, Canon cameras and professional studio equipment such as Profoto and Broncolor.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, fostering positive teamwork and open communication.
  • Problem-solving mindset and resourcefulness to tackle challenges quickly.
  • Takes initiative and proactively addresses tasks and challenges, contributing to efficient workflow.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, adapting to last-minute changes, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Valid driver's license.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from our Dublin California office.

The starting salary for this position is $68,200 - $80,000 and may increase to $95,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
