Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing exceptional veterinary care and service to the community. The successful candidate will work in the Intermediate Care unit, providing perioperative care, recovering patients from anesthesia, and promoting overall patient comfort.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary technology, with experience in animal sedation and anesthetic patient recovery. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

This is an essential worker position, and the successful candidate must be willing and able to report to work as directed to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay or interruption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide perioperative care to patients in the Intermediate Care unit
  • Recover patients from anesthesia and promote overall patient comfort
  • Administer medications and fluids as needed, under the direction of the IC supervisor and work leader
  • Communicate effectively with the IC team, work leader, and supervisor as needed
  • Maintain equipment in the IC unit and submit work orders as needed

Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university in veterinary/animal health technology
  • One year of experience assisting in animal medicinal care, administering anesthesia to animals, and/or performing veterinary surgery
  • Credentialed in the State of Colorado
  • Registered through DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relative experience commensurate with the specific position to be filled
  • Experience in animal sedation and anesthetic patient recovery

This position works in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to animals and potential allergens. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
