Event Coordination

Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events. Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity. Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities. Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards. Communicate events with clients and store team members. Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed. Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs. Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events. Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

Customer Experience

Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions. Provide fast and friendly check out experience. Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments. Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey. Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Participate in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes. Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned. Support shrink and safety programs. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards. Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promote commitment to the organization's vision and values; project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members. Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production. Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms.

Other Duties as Assigned

As a key member of the Michaels team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks and duties as assigned by management. This may include but is not limited to, assisting with special events, participating in visual merchandising, and supporting the store's operational needs.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A background in customer service, retail, or a related field is preferred. Additionally, experience working with children and children's events is a plus.

Ability to remain standing for long periods of time. Ability to move throughout the store. Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

Our store is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of customers and team members. As a Michaels team member, you will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment, and to adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Public retail store setting taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks; Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press; work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
