Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Geothermal HVAC Systems Specialist to join our team at TeamGOV, INC. for the maintenance and optimization of geothermal heating and cooling systems in various government facilities and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, troubleshooting, and servicing geothermal HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of Geothermal Systems:
    • Install geothermal heat pumps, ground loop systems, and associated HVAC equipment.
    • Conduct site assessments to determine the best location and design for geothermal installations.
    • Assemble and install piping systems, electrical components, and other necessary equipment for geothermal systems.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Perform regular maintenance on geothermal systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in geothermal HVAC systems, including issues with heat pumps, circulation pumps, and loop fields.
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to avoid system failures.
  • System Testing and Commissioning:
    • Test installed systems to ensure they meet design specifications and function correctly.
    • Perform system startup and commissioning, adjusting settings for maximum efficiency and comfort.
    • Document system performance and report any discrepancies or issues to the project manager.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Provide customers with information on system operation, maintenance, and energy-saving tips.
    • Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and technical expertise.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and support.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
    • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local building codes and environmental standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, time logs, and material usage.
  • Training and Development:
    • Stay updated on the latest geothermal HVAC technologies and industry trends.
    • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
    • Share knowledge and mentor junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Vocational training or certification in HVAC technology or geothermal systems.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HVAC installation and repair, with a focus on geothermal systems preferred.
    • Familiarity with geothermal heat pumps, ground loops, and related equipment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of geothermal HVAC systems and components.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • HVAC Technician certification (e.g., EPA certification).
    • Geothermal system certification (e.g., IGSHPA Certified Geothermal Installer) preferred.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, outdoor environments, and varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed at various job sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Exposure to construction environments, including noise, dust, and potential hazards.
