Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Guest Services Representative to join our team at Oakland Zoo's GlowFari event. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our guests, ensuring their safety and satisfaction throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Greet guests and safely welcome them on and off all rides and attractions, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.
  • Assist in guest flow and crowd management, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Learn and maintain an understanding of zoo protocols and policies, ensuring proper guest engagement and safety.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations, prioritizing guest safety and well-being.
  • Operate various rides and attractions, detecting any potential problems and taking corrective action as needed.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests and colleagues in a positive and efficient manner.
  • Able to follow policies and procedures, demonstrating attentiveness to work and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to learn and operate various rides and attractions, detecting potential problems and taking corrective action.
  • Able to read, write, and count accurately, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate complex customer service situations, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, standing, walking, and moving regularly throughout the shift.
