About the Stores Executive Internship

At Target, we're committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills. The Stores Executive Internship is a paid, 40-hour-per-week training program designed to prepare you for a leadership role in our stores. As a Stores Executive Intern, you'll work closely with our Executive Team Leaders and other leaders to gain a deep understanding of our retail business and develop the skills you need to succeed in a management role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of hourly team members and team leaders to deliver exceptional guest service and drive sales results.
  • Develop and implement business strategies and goals to drive store performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Recruit, select, and develop hourly team members and leaders to build a high-performing team.
  • Partner with Executive Team Leaders and other leaders to drive business results and achieve store goals.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to team members to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
What You'll Learn
  • Guest service fundamentals and how to build a guest-first team culture.
  • Retail business fundamentals, including sales, inventory management, and store operations.
  • Leadership skills, including communication, coaching, and development.
  • How to drive business results and achieve store goals through effective planning, execution, and follow-up.
Requirements
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interest in working in retail, specifically in a leadership role.
  • Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
