Care for a Diverse Patient Population

Cleveland Clinic's H80 General Medicine/Telemetry unit is a dynamic and challenging environment where you will care for a variety of patients, including those with respiratory, gastrointestinal, dialysis, diabetes, and other conditions. You will also work with patients who are homeless and those going through drug and alcohol withdrawal.

Develop Your Skills

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills, including those that can be applied to other areas of the hospital. Our patient population is diverse, similar to that of the Emergency Department, which means you will learn many skills that can take you anywhere in Cleveland Clinic.

Work-Life Balance

You will work a day/night rotation with shifts from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. This schedule allows for a good balance between work and personal life.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs
  • Educate patients and their families
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience (will consider military RN experience)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. You will also need to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required, as well as the ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is also a requirement.

Personal Protective Equipment

You will be required to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as needed.
