The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to serve as the Professor and Chair of the Department of Food Service and Lodging Management at the University of Central Florida's Rosen College of Hospitality Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's academic programs, governance, faculty recruitment, planning, and financial affairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the department's academic programs, including curriculum development and implementation.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the department, ensuring alignment with the college's mission and goals.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and talented faculty, ensuring a strong research and teaching profile.
  • Manage the department's budget and resources, ensuring effective use of funds and allocation of resources.
  • Represent the department to students, faculty, administration, and the industry, promoting the college's reputation and excellence.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, such as Food Service Management, Lodging Management, or Hospitality and Tourism Management.
  • Proven experience in a leadership capacity within higher education or industry, with a strong track record of academic and professional achievement.
  • Demonstrated research record, with publications in highly ranked hospitality, tourism, or business journals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
