About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to join our Google Networking Technologies team. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver programs with predictability and ensure they provide value to customers, manage software programs that include software components used for managing the data, control, and management plane of Google's global network.
  • Work with core engineering teams to develop and articulate strategy and tactical plans, develop road-maps, engage teams and engineers, set the pace for development of software systems and infrastructure.
  • Drive project delivery, technology reviews, guide technical proposals, and build consensus on cross-functional teams, provide a quantitative analysis focus, and translate the findings into recommendations and plans.
  • Set program success criteria, create measurable milestones, track deliverables and deliver customer value incrementally, optimize to improve velocity, quality, and efficiency of projects.
  • Design and launch new processes, institute process improvements, and help program teams scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience managing projects in software or software-based networking.
  • Experience with networking technologies.
  • Preferred qualifications: 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in software architecture, design, and development of scalable and reliable systems.
  • Knowledge of networking and network management.
  • Ability to manage without authority.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
