Role Summary

As a Senior HVAC Mini Split Installation Specialist, you will take charge of your installation team. After receiving guidance from our Installation Manager, you will lead your crew in executing professional installation projects. Your hands-on approach will ensure that a diverse array of HVAC and refrigeration systems are installed correctly, safely, and in alignment with the high standards set by Plumbing Systems Inc. (PSI), all while ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily focus on the installation of heat pump mini splits and conventional air conditioning units, comprising 80% of your work.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for both residential and commercial clients.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC systems.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts and tools, ensuring the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Provide mentorship and training to apprentices, facilitating their professional development.
  • Identify service challenges, procure necessary replacement parts, and calibrate systems according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills to address technical, logistical, and scheduling concerns.
  • Commit to delivering quality workmanship with integrity, adhering to company policies and values.
  • Work on prestigious job sites that often include high-end residences.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mini split installation, with a desire for growth and support.
  • Possession of an EPA license; NATE certification is advantageous.
  • A commitment to completing tasks correctly on the first attempt.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to convey basic maintenance advice to clients.
  • A passion for training and developing apprentices.
  • Valid Driver's License and the ability to pass a background screening.
  • Proficiency with technology, including tablets and work-related software.
  • Experience in creating quotes for repairs and installations of replacement systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret blueprints and manuals.
  • Proven track record in installing, replacing, and servicing HVAC systems in new residential and commercial settings.
  • Willingness to work weekends or on-call shifts as necessary.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Safety is paramount; a solid understanding of safe work practices and OSHA regulations is essential.
  • This role requires regular activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in varying temperatures, and navigate tight spaces is necessary.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Work conditions may vary by season and job scope, requiring outdoor work throughout the year.
  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities.

The compensation for this role ranges from $28 to $45 per hour or more, depending on relevant experience and skills, along with performance-based incentives. Additional benefits may be included as part of the overall compensation package.
