Job Summary:
Haselden Construction is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine the type of materials required and the dimensions of the structure or fixture to be fabricated.
- Select the specified type of lumber or other materials.
- Identify tie-off and access points, and install ladders to meet safety requirements.
- Prepare the layout and mark cutting and assembly lines on materials.
- Shape materials to prescribed measurements and assemble cut and shaped materials.
- Verify the trueness of the structure with a plumb bob and carpenter's level.
- Erect framework for structures and lay subflooring.
- Build stairs and lay out and install partitions and cabinet work.
- Cover sub-floor with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors.
- Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.
- Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.
- Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Weld metal parts to steel structural members.
Requirements:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Can take and apply direction from a supervisor.
- Must provide own safety footwear.
- Must have reliable transportation or be able to access job sites in any location of the city.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $32.00 per hour. Haselden Construction does not discriminate based upon any protected category with respect to the payment of wages.
