Job Summary:

Haselden Construction is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine the type of materials required and the dimensions of the structure or fixture to be fabricated.
  • Select the specified type of lumber or other materials.
  • Identify tie-off and access points, and install ladders to meet safety requirements.
  • Prepare the layout and mark cutting and assembly lines on materials.
  • Shape materials to prescribed measurements and assemble cut and shaped materials.
  • Verify the trueness of the structure with a plumb bob and carpenter's level.
  • Erect framework for structures and lay subflooring.
  • Build stairs and lay out and install partitions and cabinet work.
  • Cover sub-floor with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors.
  • Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.
  • Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.
  • Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
  • Weld metal parts to steel structural members.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Can take and apply direction from a supervisor.
  • Must provide own safety footwear.
  • Must have reliable transportation or be able to access job sites in any location of the city.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $32.00 per hour. Haselden Construction does not discriminate based upon any protected category with respect to the payment of wages.
