Role Overview

As a key member of our Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and evaluating the processes that inform Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operational practices. This team is dedicated to ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, product integrity, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

In collaboration with a diverse group of specialists and engineers, you will formulate and implement processes for the design, testing, and production of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and associated technologies across various spaceflight systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and manage Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) impact assessments and Notifications of Escapes (NOEs) from the supply chain.
  • Effectively communicate GIDEP and NOE findings to leadership, program stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Oversee the procedures for tracking and containing materials impacted by notifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all activities related to the containment of affected products.
  • Engage in supplier pre-shipment evaluations, quality audits, hardware acceptance, and corrective action processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 2 years focused on GIDEP.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Quality assurance experience within an aerospace production setting, including familiarity with AS9100 standards and auditing practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills across various organizational levels.
  • Strong self-motivation and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and enhance our culture of inclusivity.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).
  • Background in leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives related to Notifications of Escapes (NOEs).
  • Experience in transitioning products from development to production.
