We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our specimen receiving and processing functions.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and monitor the receipt and processing of specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and document control systems.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in the planning and maintenance of the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Investigate and resolve patient, technical, and workflow problems related to specimen receiving and processing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Assure that service standards are implemented and evaluated.
- Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care and interdepartmental problem solving/service delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as laboratory science or healthcare administration.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory operations or a related field.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of laboratory information systems and standard operating procedures.
