Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Technician to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. as an Automation Technician- 2nd Shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical and automation subsystems within our production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and automation systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Work with minimal supervision to identify and resolve issues with electrical and automation systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical and instrumentation technicians to provide technical leadership and support.
  • Use advanced network troubleshooting to diagnose control networking issues and work with IT to troubleshoot and maintain automation servers.
  • Develop and maintain user manuals and training documentation for electrical and automation systems.
  • Identify and facilitate process and automation improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide support and leadership to electrical techs and manage automation-related documentation for the facility.

Requirements:

  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Five years of strong industrial electrical background in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food processing industry.
  • Experience in mechanical systems and pneumatics is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical schematics, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and procedural manuals.
  • Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman's license is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell automation is required.

Working Conditions:

The Automation Systems Technician will work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
