Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to excel as a Senior Business Development Manager at Burns & McDonnell. As a key member of our Consumer Products team, you will drive national business development activities aligned with our overall strategy. Your responsibilities will include creating and leading growth opportunities, managing sales pipelines, and developing client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor analysis, and best practices to identify potential clients and build strategic relationships.
  • Develop Client-Focused Strategies: Collaborate with business development teams to analyze clients and competitors, develop value propositions, and create pre-Proposal (RFP) collateral.
  • Manage Business Development Teams: Supervise teams in key opening and middle-game activities, including market research, client and competitor analysis, and collaboration to develop value propositions and pre-RFP collateral.
  • Support Account Leadership: Assist client-focused account and project leadership through project completion to ensure successful execution.
  • Review and Approve Trends: Collect internal best practices, research industry events, publications, and announcements to screen high-value business deals and recommend equity investments.
  • Closing Deals: Coordinate requirements, negotiate contracts, and integrate contract requirements with business operations to close new business deals.
  • Protect Company Value: Maintain confidentiality and protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Inspire Solutions: Develop non-traditional solutions to differentiate Burns & McDonnell and inspire client engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or a related field from an accredited program, with 13 years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales promotion.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing and delivering training presentations related to proposal communications, proposal strategies, business development, and pursuit strategies.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $170,000.00-$350,000.00, based on individual qualifications, prior work experience, and location.
