Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 15 years old and possess a valid work permit if under 16. A foundational experience in gymnastics is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and telephone communication skills. It is expected that the individual will acquire First Aid and CPR/AED certifications prior to commencing work. Additional certifications may be required as determined by the Gymnastics Coordinator.

Work Schedule

This role is a part-time hourly position, with expected work hours ranging from 3 to 20 hours per week. The schedule may vary based on class offerings, practice times, and event responsibilities. Evening and weekend availability is anticipated due to the nature of the gymnastics programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead specific competitive levels as designated by the Gymnastics Coordinator.
  2. Conduct practices tailored to the assigned competitive level.
  3. Perform safety inspections and ensure a safe, organized gymnastics environment.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Implement and uphold the District's safety program rules and guidelines.
  2. Assist in other areas of the recreation department as needed.
  3. Complete other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills

The Recreational Gymnastics Coach must work effectively under the supervision of the Gymnastics Coordinator and interact positively with participants, including children and adults. The ability to manage stressful situations and address safety hazards is crucial.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should be capable of lifting, turning, and carrying up to 40 pounds, as well as placing this weight on shelves at chest height. During special events, the ability to work extended hours is necessary.
