The Recreational Gymnastics Coach is tasked with executing preschool and recreational gymnastics sessions under the guidance of the Gymnastics Coordinator. This role encompasses both essential and supplementary functions as detailed in this overview.
QualificationsRequirements:
Applicants must be at least 15 years old and possess a work permit if under 16. Prior experience in gymnastics is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and telephone communication skills. It is expected that the individual will secure First Aid and CPR/AED certifications prior to commencing work. Additional certifications may be required as necessary.
Work ScheduleHours:
This position is part-time and hourly, with an estimated workload of 3-20 hours per week. Work hours will fluctuate based on class schedules, practice times, and event responsibilities. Evening and weekend availability is anticipated due to the nature of the gymnastics programs.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:
- Lead specific competitive levels as designated by the Gymnastics Coordinator.
- Conduct practices tailored to the assigned competitive level.
- Perform safety inspections and ensure a secure and organized gymnastics environment.
Additional Duties:
- Implement and uphold the safety protocols of the District.
- Assist in other areas of the recreation department as required by supervisory staff.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
The Recreational Gymnastics Coach must work effectively under the supervision of the Gymnastics Coordinator. The individual should interact positively with the general public, including children, adults, and colleagues. The ability to manage stressful situations and recognize safety hazards is crucial.
CompetenciesApplicants must possess the ability to read, write, and organize materials effectively. Supervision of participants and a strong awareness of safety protocols are essential.
Physical RequirementsThe role requires the ability to lift, turn, and carry up to 40 pounds, placing this weight on shelves at chest height. During special events, the individual should be prepared to work extended hours.
