The Itasca Park District is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Front Desk Attendant. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing registrations, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Welcomes and assists customers in a friendly and efficient manner, both face-to-face and via telephone.
- Reviews and maintains policies and procedures outlined in the Itasca Park District Procedures Manual.
- Accurately processes program registrations, cancellations, memberships, and other cash, check, or credit card transactions.
- Assists with maintaining accurate records of billing for gymnastics, preschool, and other regularly scheduled bill payment programs.
- Establishes good working relationships with patrons, the community, and the general public.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and attends work on a regular basis.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- A minimum age of 18 is required for this position.
- High school graduate or GED Certificate.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn special recreation software packages.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Team-centric focus with the ability to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Other certifications may be required as deemed necessary.
- Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform ongoing light to moderate work.
- Incumbent will occasionally stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, lift, finger grasp, feel, sit, and perform other repetitive motions, as required.
- Ability to lift heavy weights of up to 30 pounds frequently without assistance and heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of equipment.
- Vision is required to observe and interact with visitors and patrons, and to view information on paper/forms and a computer.
- Hearing and speech are required to hear and speak with visitors and patrons, both in person and on the telephone.
- Work environment is indoors in an office setting with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting around people and office equipment with moderate to high noise levels.
- Exposure to cleaning and office supplies as well as blood and body fluids exposure when rendering first aid and CPR.
- Potential exposure to chronic infectious disease while performing routine first aid or emergency procedures.
$15.00 per hour
