We're looking for an Income & Relief Services Director
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for community service and expertise in resource management? Do you excel in leading teams, overseeing operations and driving strategic initiatives? If so, we want you to join us as our Income & Relief Services Director In this influential role, you'll guide our department in delivering vital resources like navigation support, rent and emergency financial assistance, computer access, digital literacy, and partner agency care. You'll oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality service, and develop effective screening and reporting tools. Collaborating closely with our VP of Adult Services, you'll play a key role in achieving our strategic goals and upholding our mission.

- Expertise in Human Services: Deep understanding of social determinants of health, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based behavioral change.
- Proven Leadership Experience: 5+ years team management with a track record of defining roles and providing clear direction.

Essential Duties
- Provide leadership for operation of all Income and Relief Services programs and the delivery of services. Evaluate and improve program components using evaluation tools and strategies focused on improving the client experience, stability and department outcomes.
- Plan for and secure appropriate staff and material resources to execute the functions of: 1) receiving and responding to clients in person, through phone and email communication, 2) referral as needed, 3) intake, 4) emergency assistance, 5) data recording and maintenance on program activity, 6) program discharge as needed.
People Management
- Plan employee and volunteer staffing needs. Lead the department's hiring process in coordination with the VP Adult Services and Human Resources. Monitor the process to ensure adherence to equal opportunity employment practices
- Provide supervision and support for staff, including individual and group meetings. Support the training needs for staff and volunteers. Communicate expectations for the positions supervised and provide guidance on achieving expectations. Document issues related to employee performance.
- Identify and mitigate human resources risks in communicating with VP of Adult Services and Human Resources.
Process Management
- Participate in the development of plans for Income and Relief, including strategic planning along with board and leadership staff, and long and short-term goals and objectives.
- Oversee referral and case-conferencing processes and work inter-departmentally and with referral partners whenever appropriate and possible to foster best practices and enhance client outcomes.
- Standardize and refine all shared processes including database utilization.
- Work with partner agencies and facilitate their integration into the services at the Marian House Campus.
- Provide for effective means of evaluation, quality improvement, and outcomes measurement for departmental programs in conjunction with the VP Adult Services, COO, and Performance & Innovation staff.
- Develop and update policies and procedures in cooperation with other staff.
- Supervise all data management functions and outcomes reporting.
- Provide for the maintenance of appropriate records, files, minutes, and reports as prescribed by law and internal policy.
Financial and Resource Management
- Provide appropriate accounting of funds.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and monitor financial reports in conjunction with the VP Adult Services, COO, CFO, and CEO.
- Provide an effective means of reporting, monitoring services, and the maintenance of appropriate records, files, and reports that are consistent with areas of responsibility.
- Maintain accurate monthly and annual statistical reports of program data and outcomes.
- Support fund development and public relations efforts for the programs. Ensure the needs of clients and families are represented to civic and community organizations and local services agencies, as well as to government and other funding partners to generate necessary resources.
- Participate in grant-making as needed. Understand grant stipulations, amounts, timelines which dictate program activity. Provide information for grant reporting. Monitor program activity in relation to grant resources.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in systems focused on service needs of homeless and/or low-income populations.
- Understanding of how social determinants of health affect the challenges and opportunities that clients may face.
- Understanding of the challenges and opportunities of working with people to gain greater stability in their lives.

- Good judgement and ability to prioritize according to what is most important.
- Knowledge of Colorado Springs community resources.
- Proven ability to set and achieve goals for program development and volunteer staffing.
- Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to human services, such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Health, Behavioral Health, or equivalent degree/experience. Master's degree preferred.
- Five years' experience in human services, behavioral health, or health/human services administration. Proven management skills in health or human services programs including client case management. Three years' experience with managing staff and volunteers.
Work Environment
- A majority of the assigned duties are performed in an office environment.

Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. Salary is determined based on the applicant's incoming skills and experience, and the budget at time of hiring.
Position Classification & Schedule
- Nonexempt
- Full Time: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
- Occasional evenings and weekends are required to accommodate meetings, and special events.
