CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY

Quality Control Manager position will oversee and maintain the highest standards of quality in our construction projects. The QC Manager is responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive quality control systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver excellence in construction quality. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects while adhering to all relevant standards and specifications.


CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain clear lines of authority and careful supervision throughout the site construction program.
  • Implement a thorough submittal review and documentation system.
  • Ensure all testing is completed and documented as required by the project specifications.
  • Implement a strict Three Phase inspection control system for all construction activities.
  •  Notify Project Management Staff of quality discrepancies for immediate corrective action.
  • Manage and direct the day-to-day functions and operations of the project CQC Plan.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with MCPS staff for all matters relating to project quality and the quality control program.
  • Supervise the activities and inspections of QC Inspectors, Specialists, and Testing Agency personnel.
  • Coordinate the activities of laboratories and testing agencies per specifications.
  •  Identify non-conforming work and provide recommendations for corrections or removal of such non-conforming work.
  • Prepare QCR reports as required by the contract and submit them to MCPS as required.
  • Prepare other reports and correspondence relating to the administration of the Quality Control Program.
  • Implement and execute the policies and procedures contained in the project CQC Plan.
  • Ensure all subcontractors and suppliers fully comply with all aspects of the project CQC Plan.

CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, preferred.                                                                                                
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control management
  • USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Course Certification
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software and documentation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications


CONSTRUCTION QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb and kneel for periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. Position will require that employee have manual dexterity, good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. 


Compensation details: 100000-115000 Yearly Salary
