If so, we are looking for someone like you to join the Air Combat and Strike Mission Analysis Group As an Air-to-Air Modeling & Simulation Analyst you will…Analyze the effectiveness and employment of airborne systems operating in complex environments using tools such as AFSIM.Develop, evaluate, and analyze tactics and concepts of employment for ground breaking technologies such as air platforms, sensors, countermeasures, and weapons including manned-unmanned vehicles.Work with a team of analysts who will benefit from your experience, and senior engineers with whom you will guide the direction of analysis.Have the opportunity to present your work through briefings to both technical specialists and pivotal decision makers.Have opportunities to engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward independent initiative. QualificationsYou will meet our minimum qualification for the job if you…Have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related area.Have demonstrated excellence in conducting mission-level modeling, simulation, & analysis in the air-to-air domain with tools such as AFSIM or Brawler.Are skilled in conducting quantitative analysis, rapidly learning new and exciting concepts.Have strong scripting and programming skills with any of the following languages: Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or JAVACan work effectively in a highly collaborative environment and communicate sophisticated ideas directly with government civilians, military officers, and other contractorsAre able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
