JOB TITLE:              Accounting Manager – Live Production LOCATION:             Live Operations – Douglas REPORTS TO:         Regional Live Accounting Manager POSITION SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for all accounting/financial activities relating to Pullet/Breeder, Hatcheries, Feed Mill, Broiler Grow–Out and Live Haul in one live production complex. Will work closely with operations and accounting management to reduce costs through reporting and analysis, weekly & monthly financial preparation and reporting including budgeting, to assist and direct the development of internal control procedures, standards, and compliance as it pertains to the Sarbanes Oxley Act and to insure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles. Will be responsible for: Supervising the Live Operations Clerical Staff for Pullet/Breeder, Hatcheries, Feed Mill, Broiler Grow–Out & Live Haul.Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Live Production Complexes.Preparing audit schedules for both Internal and External audit requirements.Supervising and directing the work, training and development of partners in the department.Working with Live Operation's department managers to prepare both capital and operating budgets.Managing the process of accounting of grower pay, the purchase of outside birds and handling of special flocks.Ensuring proper reporting of inventories and fixed assets for all cost centers within the live production complex. Gaining a thorough understanding of SAP and Mtech, and how the systems work in the Live Production areas while working with information systems and management to improve performance and reporting. Communicating and interacting with various levels within the organization. Communicating results and findings to management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.Performing related tasks as requested.Occasional travel required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must have at least 5 years previous experience in accounting, preferably in Poultry industryAble to solve analytical accounting problemsWorking knowledge of Excel, Word, SAP or similar ERP systemAbility to work well under pressureAble to effectively communicate in both verbal and written formAbility to meet deadlinesConfidentiality is a Must EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college/university (preferably in Accounting/Finance).  Previous related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. EOE/Vet/Disabled
