Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for organizing and directing cost accounting activities for our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and compile cost information, maintaining a database of operation expenses.
  • Predict, plan, and record variable costs, including purchases of raw materials, labor, and operation costs.
  • Review and analyze actual costs to identify variances and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Develop systems and procedures for accumulation systems and cost accounting functions.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings with assistance.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly material and scrap analysis of performance to budget and forecast.
  • Participate in setting new standards for each fiscal year.
  • Participate in the development of short- and long-range financial plans, particularly in the areas of scrap and inventory adjustments.
  • Participate in and monitor the taking of physical inventories and their subsequent reconciliation, ensuring corrective actions are identified.
  • Interact with manufacturing management, product engineers, and managers, as well as Sales, Production Control, and I.T., concerning scrap budgets, forecasts, and targets.
Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting procedures and practices.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in cost accounting required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in group/team settings.
  • Ability to present information and data in an understandable and logical manner.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry.
Physical Demands

Please note that this position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, stair climbing, ladder climbing, and walking on rough surfaces, as well as working near moving machinery.
