Summary
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other items. This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by the employee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
- Perform inventory controls and keep high quality standards for audits.
- Follow FDA, OSHA & SQF Regulations.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Complete diary logs into inventory.
- Track and maintain inventory.
- Report any discrepancies.
- Work in conjunction with and support Production and Inspection Departments
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Specialized knowledge of warehouse plans, methods, procedures, and techniques of materials handling.
- Ability to operate mechanized equipment including utility vehicles, standard size forklifts (up to 6000 lbs. capacity), high rise automated storage equipment, etc. in narrow, and constricted warehouse aisles.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate micro-computers, related hardware and software designed for warehouse use.
- Skill in stacking, moving, arranging items on pallets, and must consider height, weight, and special handling requirements.
- Knowledge and skills required for the safe handling, storage and movement of materials handled.
- Maintain state motor vehicles operator permit in proper classification as required by position.
- Must have Valid Driver's License.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years Warehouse environment experience.
- Must have knowledge and familiarity with modern warehousing practices and procedures.
- Willingness and ability to learn how to operate various forklift types re: Electric Forklift, Sit-down.
- Forklift Certification (a plus/ but not required).
- Experience using RF Scanner.
- Must have proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite (A plus) and Computer Navigation skills.
- Ability to work in a positive Team environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be flexible to work any schedule.
- Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.
- Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.?
Physical Demands
- The position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
- The employee may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist and lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
- May also engage in frequent bending,?stooping, pushing, and pulling of boxes.
- The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and use proper lifting techniques.
