Job Description Quality Control Supervisor - Kennesaw, GANATURE & SCOPE Quality Control Supervisor will perform, under minimal supervision of the Quality Control Manager, inspection and analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods to ensure compliance with cGMP/GLP standard operating procedures. The scope of responsibility for this position crosses multiple departments within Deerland Enzymes (e.g. Quality Assurance, Production, Sales, etc.); therefore, the incumbent needs to collaborate with various departments and institutions. The Laboratory Supervisor will lead, facilitate, and support the improvement of staff through regular communication regarding expectations, laboratory technique, and training. A successful candidate will be expected to maintain accurate and legible laboratory logbooks and testing documentation in accordance with SOP's. Additional functions are to review and create Certificates of Analysis (COAs); provide technical support to internal and external customers and/or vendors; support customer acquisition testing including chemical assays and microbiological assays.The Quality Control Lab Manager must conform to the Deerland Enzymes and Probiotics Core Values which are reflected in Deerland's SQUAD Quality Policy:MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES The responsibilities of a QC Lab Supervisor include, but are not limited to the following:Perform and oversee laboratory (chemical, physical, and microbiological) tests in a manner such that results are accurate, precise, and reproducibleReview and create Laboratory methods, SOPs, result reports, and Certificate of Analysis (COAs)Perform equipment validations as neededInspect and analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in accordance with cGMP/GLP standard operating proceduresIdentify imperfections of samples via mechanical/electronic equipment and chemical analysisDocument data, report results, perform equipment verification and calibration, and laboratory cleaning in accordance with Deerland Enzymes' SOP's and certificationsMaintain familiarity with current scientific literature and technologiesIdentify opportunities for method or SOP improvementAssist in out of specification investigations and laboratory-related deviations Record, interpret, and present results to senior colleagues, customers, and vendorsEnsure a well-stocked and resourced laboratory Local travel (between sites): Occasional (Education Minimum - Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalentExperience RequiredProficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power PointBasic mathematical and statistical skillsBasic laboratory skills (e.g. pipetting, weighing, dilutions, etc.)Experience with any of the following: standard assay procedures, IR, HPLC, PCR, Real-Time PCRLeadership experienceAt least 2 years of previous laboratory experience Preferred5+ years of previous laboratory experienceQuality Control and knowledge of cGMP / ISO 17025Specific skills Strong attention to detail in order to produce accurate, precise, and reproducible dataStrong leadership, analytical, organizational, and time management skillsTask oriented and results drivenStrong work ethic and prioritizational skillsWork collaboratively with various departments to compile, analyze, and interpret dataManual dexterityAbility to follow written protocolsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentExcellent written and oral communication skils - ability to make presentations and/or give presentationsMust be able to lift 25lbsMust possess a valid US Driver's LicenseExcited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
