The Maintenance Lead Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities within the manufacturing plant. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that all machinery and equipment are maintained to high standards, and minimizing downtime through effective planning and execution of maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in equipment maintenance, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, including assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the maintenance team.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to promote teamwork and high morale.
  2. Maintenance Management:
    • Oversee the execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring that equipment is repaired and maintained according to company standards.
    • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment breakdowns and extend the life of machinery.
    • Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure that maintenance activities are performed with minimal disruption to operations.
  3. Technical Expertise:
    • Provide hands-on support and guidance for complex maintenance and repair tasks, utilizing technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
    • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and best practices.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve maintenance processes.
  4. Planning and Coordination:
    • Plan and schedule maintenance activities, ensuring that resources, parts, and tools are available when needed.
    • Coordinate PM's with other departments, such as production and engineering, to align maintenance activities with overall plant operations and goals.
    • Track and analyze maintenance data to identify patterns, improve processes, and reduce maintenance costs.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that maintenance tasks are carried out in compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
    • Ensure that maintenance activities and records are in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  6. Inventory and Budget Management:
    • Manage maintenance supplies and inventory, ensuring that necessary parts and tools are available and ordered as needed.
    • Assist in budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment performance data.
    • Prepare and present reports on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and recommendations for improvements to management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 5 years in a supervisory position.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
    • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work based on maintenance needs and production schedules.
