Process EngineerWe're a leading contract manufacturer of various snack food products located in Pittsburgh, PA and we're seeking a Process Engineer. This role is a key position within a team responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. The position will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology and the supporting framework to deliver business results.Job SummaryThe position will work across the organization to lead the Continuous Improvement function. You will be responsible for analyzing and implementing improvements to current practices, improving the effectiveness of Overall Equipment Effectiveness systems and developing, communicating, and implementing performance metrics and employee communication platforms across the organization.Definition of SuccessDemonstrated leadership in advancing the CI culture, developing and implementing CI strategies and initiatives that deliver clear and accurate direction that is meaningful and actionable across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPrioritize safety through leadership, work procedures and employee safety programsFoster a collaborative working environment across all functions of the organizationTrain, mentor and guide team members in new processesAnalyze company processes and procedures to identify trends and process variationsLead and facilitate LEAN / process improvement based workshops to drive ideas and solutionsDevelop and lead raw and pack yield validation and improvement programsTake ownership of change initiatives from evolution / efficiency identification through to project deliveryComplete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projectsMaintain, develop and implement internal employee communication platformsWork closely with plant operations to ensure reporting and communication are effective and adjust as neededKey CompetenciesCustomerFocus: Understandsand monitorsthe needs of internal and external customersAdaptable / Flexible: Open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstancesCross-FunctionalCollaboration: Ability to work in a dynamic team environmentSelf-Starter: Takes initiative in developing programs to conform with set standards, ensuring the development of a robust cultureProblem-Solving: Preventsand solvesissues, understand and mitigatesproblems, recognizescause and effect relationships between functionsProject andTimeManagement: Planstasks and deliverables accurately, prioritizestasks, adaptsas neededandis responsive to requestsandaccountable for actionsQualificationsBS/BA in industrial engineering or food processing field or equivalent work experienceFive years' experience in process optimization, operations, or business managementExperience and understanding in 6 Sigma, 5S, Lean, OEE, GE systemsOEE system experience, RedZone preferredERP system experience preferredCreativity in developing new ways of working / methodologyEffective interpersonal and written communication skillsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, Tableau experience preferred
