Works directly with Solutions Architect and produces OEM electro-mechanical drawings and solutions based on requirements, specifications and direction. Uses Solidworks and other tools to accurately prepare drawing and assembly packages, bills of material and other documentation as required to ensure the highest level of profitability and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
Designs and collaborates on custom electro-mechanical products and components involving custom material handling, robotics, conveyors, automated inspection frames.
Demonstrates sufficient technical knowledge of conveyor design
Participates in hands-on activities to procure, assemble, test and troubleshoot potential designs prior to manufacturing release.
Applies creative solutions to solve problems.
Applies standard drafting practices. Produces moderately difficult drawings of parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies, catalog items, tooling layouts and facility plans.
Uses CAD system(s) to effectively produce required documents.
Proficient in Solidworks
Ability to deliver excellent customer service
Provides drafting support and generates additional support documentation on schedule consistent with provided instructions and with minimal degree of supervision.
Participates actively as a presenter or reviewer at design reviews and related meetings.
Ability to make recommendations on changes in approach, concepts and the design of solutions as a team member
to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.
Required Education and Experience:
4-year degree or certification 5+ Years of Experience
Qualifications:
Hands-on build experience in fabrication, mechanical assembly, use of common fabrication tools
Knowledge of Product Data Management, Product Development Processes
Expert in revision management
Experience in solving problems
Ability to stay on schedule and meet customer delivery deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people across multiple functional areas

Certification or formal training in AutoCAD or SolidWorks software
Mechanical design and analysis
Knowledge of drafting standards and manufacturing processes
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Web conferencing, Databases and willingness to learn other tools
