Job Title: Avionics Design Engineer

Join SpaceX, a pioneering company in the field of space exploration, as an Avionics Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our Starlink satellite constellation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electro-mechanical designs for wire harnesses within our Starlink vehicles
  • Design harness solutions within a 3D CAD environment and manage technical trade studies to meet stakeholder objectives
  • Generate electrical schematics to support flight and qualification designs
  • Own vehicle-level harnessing mechanical assemblies and drive system integration trades
  • Perform analysis and physical testing of harnessing to ensure qualification for flight
  • Document and communicate design, analysis, and testing results
  • Create and release manufacturing documentation and drawings
  • Interface with production and integration teams to ensure final harness designs can be produced and installed on schedule
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter
  • Experience with wire harness 3D design, wire harness installation drawings, and formboard creation
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to interact with other engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems
