We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team in the Industrial Automation industry. As an Applications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and expertise to our customers during the pre-sales processes. Your ability to understand customer requirements, develop customized solutions, and deliver exceptional service will be paramount to your success in this role. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide tailored recommendations and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to prepare technical concepts, proposals, and quotations that meet all requirements for customers and internal processes.
  • Including CAD Models, Risk Assessments, Sequence of Operations, Cycle Time Charts, Estimated Project Schedules, etc.
  • Conduct concept review presentations and demonstrations to potential customers, promoting the benefits and features of our concepts; and highlighting competitive advantages and solutions to customer pain points.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring their satisfaction and maximizing their utilization of our machines and services.
  • Provide post-sale assistance to ensure a seamless transition of knowledge and information from sales to the project management and design engineering teams.
  • Maintain accuracy of related fields in company CRM.
  • As needed, provide technical support to customers during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements, continuously expanding your knowledge and expertise.
  • Participate in product development and improvement initiatives, providing valuable feedback and insights.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field
  • 5+ years experience developing automated machine concepts, quoting, sales, and customer interactions
  • Ability to identify and quantify cost factors, such as time, materials, expenses, tooling, etc. to create accurate pricing for machine concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, as required, up to 20%
  • Strong knowledge of SolidWorks
