Lynn, United States Wash Cycle Laundry Full time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Corporate QSE (Quality, Safety, Environmental) Manager to join our Wash Cycle Laundry team. This role is critical in ensuring our operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to lead and train teams effectively.

Wash Cycle Laundry is a rapidly growing social enterprise and commercial laundry service serving large business clients in Boston, Philadelphia, and the DC/Baltimore area. Founded in 2010 with a mission to create a launching pad into upwardly mobile careers for vulnerable adults, we've grown to a company of over 100 employees, many of whom have a history of incarceration, a history of homelessness, a disability, or refugee status.

Our employees speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and we have built a diverse, multilingual management team and, for a mid-sized laundry company, a surprisingly global operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all laundry services exceed industry standards and customer expectations.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the laundry process to identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with the production team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Monitor and analyze quality and process metrics, providing reports to management and recommending process enhancements.

Safety Management:

  • Lead the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.

  • Train employees on safety protocols, including the proper use of equipment, handling of chemicals, and emergency response procedures.

  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, with support from the HR department in administering and handling employee injury claims.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all operations comply with OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and other relevant safety and health laws.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and best practices, ensuring continuous compliance.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead training sessions for staff on quality assurance processes and safety procedures.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness across the organization.

  • Leads our safety committee and proactively collaborates with managers and the maintenance department to enhance our safety controls and processes.

Delivery Driver Oversight:

  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and quality standards specific to delivery operations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery practices.

  • Conduct regular evaluations of delivery drivers to ensure compliance with safety procedures and customer service standards.

  • Address and resolve any delivery-related issues or quality concerns, collaborating with the delivery team to implement corrective actions as needed.

  • We operate a fleet of fewer than five vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing.

  • Candidate must have experience working in a regulated environment, demonstrating familiarity with strict compliance standards and procedures relevant to safety, quality, and industry-specific regulations.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

  • Basic knowledge of DOT regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.

  • Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP) is highly desirable.

  • Spanish language is required.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform duties in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, and moving machinery in a commercial laundry environment.

  • The role requires regular standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
