JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Analytical Services:
- Performs chart correction process, identifies errors and notifies downstream system owners of required corrections
- Performs analysis of assigned processes and systems to improve the data integrity of the patient's chart
- Coordinates merges of medical records across systems and physical charts, ensuring complete accuracy and following all policies and procedures
- Works closely with business and clinical operation teams to obtain or create workflow documentation of current applications
- Performs general clerical tasks, such as monitoring and updating tickets timely, analyzing or generating reports
- Participates in quality improvement processes when needed
- Maintains strictest confidence of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure
- Performs job responsibilities in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of service
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- 1-year recent relevant experience
- Knowledge of patient privacy policies and legislation such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act)
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences and fellow team members
- Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline
- Keen problem-solving ability; comfortable performing in unforeseen scenarios and quickly changing from one task to another
- Effective analytical, problem, and issue resolution experience required
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve department objectives and meet deadlines
- Work autonomously, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
