Shift: Days

Job Summary:

As a Manager of the Intensive Care Unit and CSIC you will be a highly qualified, expert clinician who possesses advanced care skills and has demonstrated strong critical thinking skills. You will assist the Nursing Unit Director in planning, implementing and assessing the day-to-day functions of the unit. You will provide supervisory and management oversight for staff members and departmental resources and processes. You will collaborate with physicians to expedite information and manage throughput on cases ranging from minor injuries to acutely or critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will have the ability to create and maintain an environment that results in above average satisfaction ratings from employees, patients and physicians.

• You will have the ability to delegate work responsibilities based on team member strengths, developmental needs, and workload.

• You will have the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and implements training and development accordingly.

• You will work with the Director on department staffing; hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.

You will have the ability to retain and recruit sufficient and qualified staff for effective operations.

Requirements:

• Current RN license in the State of Alaska

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a program within 12 months

• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

• A minimum of two years high acuity ICU experience

• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills

• Strong clinical skills in the performance of ICU level nursing care

• Strong leadership skills and organizational skills
