Job Type: Full-Time Regular

Job Summary :
Are you ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, high-impact critical care environment? As the Manager of our Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care (CSIC) unit, you'll be more than a highly qualified clinician; you'll be a key player in shaping the future of critical care at our hospital. With your advanced skills and strong critical thinking, you’ll work side-by-side with the Nursing Unit Director to plan, implement, and oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-performing team.
We’re seeking someone with a passion for patient care and a talent for leadership—someone who can inspire and mentor our skilled CSIC staff while ensuring the smooth, efficient functioning of the department. You'll play a pivotal role in collaborating with physicians, guiding treatment from minor injuries to critical cases, and driving positive outcomes for our patients.

In this Manager role, you will:
Create an exceptional work environment that fosters above-average satisfaction ratings from employees, patients, and physicians.
Lead and delegate effectively, aligning work responsibilities with team members' strengths and areas for growth while balancing workload.
Mentor and develop staff, identifying strengths and opportunities for growth, and providing targeted training and support to elevate performance.
Manage departmental operations, including staffing, hiring, evaluating, scheduling, and, when needed, guiding and disciplining staff.
Recruit and retain top talent, ensuring the CSIC is staffed with skilled, passionate professionals to support smooth operations.
Drive financial and operational success, maintaining compliance with budgets and key financial metrics while contributing to hospital-wide initiatives.
Foster collaboration across departments, ensuring seamless integration of CSIC operations within the broader hospital ecosystem.
Qualifications:
RN license in the State of Alaska
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or active enrollment in a program within 12 months)
BLS/BCLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Experience: At least one year of experience in CSIC, three years of direct ICU nursing, and a minimum of two years of open-heart recovery experience.
Exceptional communication skills: Strong written, oral, and presentation abilities.
Leadership prowess: Proven skills in leading and motivating a team in high-pressure environments.
Creative problem-solving: Ability to work resourcefully within a team, proposing and implementing initiatives to improve patient care and departmental efficiency.
Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, with strong analytical skills for interpreting data and identifying trends.
