Position Description: Foundation Communities is a local nonprofit affordable housing and community service provider. In addition to more than 20 affordable housing communities, FC owns and operates two Prosper Centers in Austin at 2900 S I-35 Frontage Rd and 5900 Airport Blvd. At both locations, teams of staff and volunteers provide a range of free community services – including tax preparation, health insurance enrollment, financial wellness programs, and college support services – to more than 15,000 people each year. During tax season (January to April), the team also provides tax preparation at four or more community sites. The Client Services Coordinator plays an essential role in helping families in Central Texas build financial stability and works across the Tax Help and Health Coverage teams. From January to April (tax season), this position manages tax services at one of the Prosper Centers or satellite tax sites, supporting volunteers and seasonal staff to deliver accurate and efficient tax preparation services to 20,000+ households. From May to October, the Client Services Coordinator works directly with community members to help them enroll in and navigate health insurance on the federal Marketplace. From November to December (Open Enrollment for the Marketplace), they manage health enrollment services at one of the Prosper Centers, supporting volunteers and seasonal staff to provide effective enrollment services to thousands of Central Texans who would otherwise not have access to health insurance. Primary Duties/ Responsibilities The specific responsibilities of this position will fluctuate throughout the year as follows: May to October (Health Coverage year-round season) With a trauma-informed approach, help clients enroll in health insurance and utilize their coverage to receive care Establish and maintain relevant certifications (paid training provided) Collect and enter data in an accurate and timely manner Collect client stories as needed Support preparation activities for Open Enrollment Other duties as assigned November to April (Health Coverage Open Enrollment from November to December and Tax Season from January to April) Oversee on-site services to ensure efficient, effective, and client-centered service delivery Ensure the programs provide exceptional customer service to the public Provide leadership and support to volunteers and other tax site staff Establish and maintain relevant certifications (paid training provided) Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Ability to provide superior customer service to clients with diverse identities and needs Ability to work with staff, volunteers, and clients from diverse backgrounds Ability to engage with under-served and under-represented populations Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, and multi-task a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Accurate, efficient and detail-oriented Proficient with technology and knowledge of computer operations and software Complete all specified training and certifications (paid training provided at start of employment and annually) Preferred Requirements Ability to communicate fluently in English and proficiency in another language (Spanish, and/or Arabic, and/or Pashto) Working Conditions General office environment. Work is generally active in nature and requires standing and walking for up to 50% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Physical Requirements General office-based demands including remaining in the seated position with occasional standing and walking.
